RENÉ HERBST (1891-1982) Varnished walnut veneer desk with a rectangular top covered with leather in the central part, opening on the left side by a box with a full door on an interior with adjustable height shelves, a drawer in the belt, and on the right side a drawer over a full door. Legs quadrangular in front and back in doucine and flat back brace. A varnished walnut veneer desk with a rectangular top covered with leather in the central part, opening on the left by a pedestal with a full door on an interior with adjustable height shelves, a drawer in the belt, and on the right part a drawer surmounting a full door. Legs with quadrangular front and back legs in stave and flat back strut. H 77 x W 162 x D 80 cm - H 30 1/4 x W 63 3/4 x D 31 1/2 in. HISTORY : Model made by René Herbst in 1937 for the decoration of the store of his friend Jean Puiforcat, located 131 boulevard Haussmann in Paris.
