PROVENANCE :
Commissioned for the decoration of a Paris apartment, delivered in 1957. Original invoice. Since left in the family of the commissioning parties.
Ordered in 1956 and delivered in 1957 to decorate a Paris flat. Original estimate and invoice. Since then, they have remained in the family of the commissioners.
History :
The "Flaque" model was first created in metal, in 1947. The straw marquetry version was created around 1950. An example in brown straw marquetry with star design was presented at the Salon des Arts Ménagers in 1954.
