Printed by Rupert Jasen Smith (New York) and edited by Ronald Feldman Fine Arts (New York). From Endangered Species, 1983 by Ronald Feldman. In 1983, Andy Warhol created a series of ten color serigraphs depicting endangered animals from around the world: Siberian tiger, San Francisco tiger, orangutan, Grevy's zebra, black rhinoceros, bighorn sheep ram, African elephant, tree frog. Pine Barrens, giant panda and bald eagle. Using vivid colors - characteristic of his distinctive style - and touching expressions that evoke the animal's fate, Warhol creates a dynamic tension between art and reality.
