LARYEW (Stanislaw Julien Ignacy, Count Ostrorog, known as) 1 - Lot 97
LARYEW (Stanislaw Julien Ignacy, Count Ostrorog, known as) 1863-1935 "Nus", Paris Librairie des Arts Décoratifs, A. Calavas, 1934. 330 x 255 mm. 4 pages and 100 halftone plates printed in sepia, in publisher's titled portfolio. After ten years in London, where he set up his first studio, Laryew moved to Paris around 1900, where he became the photographer of cabaret artists at the Folies Bergères, Moulin Rouge and Casino de Paris. The most naked images were signed with pseudonyms that were anagrams of his name. The album presented here was mainly intended for sculptors, painters, bronziers and decorators. [Bertolotti 87, 90; Auer 164]. (100814)
